The pesticide industry has increased worldwide selling products on a larger scale. They make commercial ads by depicting their products to be the best. We all know that pesticides degrade the environment and are bad for soil quality. The more you use pesticides, the more productivity of the soil will degrade.

Pesticides in Kenya have been used for a long time and now the condition is such that the country is not able to fulfil the demand for food for the citizens. There are many initiatives taken to mitigate the problem of food. One of them is Route to food initiative, this project is aimed at restoring agriculture and food security.

Four pillars of food security need to be established to achieve food security in Kenya. The right to food in Kenya’s constitution is embodied in article 43 of the constitution. This confers upon the government the duty to mitigate the hunger problems in the country and make policies to restore food security.

Food systems in Kenya can be made strong by adopting agroecology and healthy agricultural practices. The overall aim of the individual organisations and government in Kenya should be to provide an adequate amount of food to citizens and to ensure that no one dies because of hunger.

There are many programs, policies and initiatives run by the government and the individuals to solve the problem of hunger in Kenya so that the country flourishes with its healthy citizens.
